More than ten years of evidence-led valuation across the greater Dublin area and the wider Leinster market.
JWL Property Valuations has been valuing property across the greater Dublin area and Leinster for over ten years. In that time we have prepared valuations for banks and credit unions, for solicitors handling probate and family law matters, for families navigating the Fair Deal Scheme, for landlords and investors, and for homeowners who simply needed to know with certainty what their property was worth.
Most property valuations in Ireland are carried out by estate agents, for whom valuation is one service among many and often a route to a sales instruction. We work differently. JWL is a dedicated valuation practice. We are not trying to sell your house, we are not looking for the listing, and we have no interest in the figure being anything other than accurate. That independence is the point, and it is why solicitors and lenders come back to us.
It also means the work gets our full attention. Valuation methodology, market evidence, professional standards and report structure are not things we fit in around other business. They are the business.
Our team of valuers works across the greater Dublin area and Leinster, which means we can cover ground quickly without ever sending someone who does not know the area. Whoever carries out your valuation, the accreditation, the standards and the approach are the same.
An estate agent valuing your home is usually also pitching to sell it. We are not.
Every JWL valuation is carried out by a qualified valuer who inspects the property and signs the report.
A lender, a solicitor, the HSE and Revenue all want something slightly different.
If the valuation is not what you were hoping for, we will tell you plainly.
Shane Cooke founded JWL and leads the practice. With over a decade of experience valuing property across Dublin and Leinster, he has worked on everything from single-bed apartments in the city centre to development sites and substantial period homes, and he sets the standards our valuers work to.
He is a Member of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers (MIPAV) and holds the TEGoVA designations of Recognised European Valuer (REV) and Recognised European Residential Valuer (RESI), accreditations awarded on the basis of demonstrated education, experience and adherence to European Valuation Standards. He is also a member of the Mediators' and Court Experts' Institute (MMCEPI), reflecting the volume of JWL's work that is prepared for legal proceedings and independent expert instruction.
What that adds up to in practice is straightforward: every JWL valuation is carried out by a qualified valuer who inspects the property, prepares the report and puts their name to it. If you want to understand how a valuation was arrived at, you can ask the person who arrived at it.
Anyone in Ireland can offer an opinion on what a house is worth. Far fewer are licensed to produce a valuation a lender, a solicitor or a court will accept.

Licensed by the Property Services Regulatory Authority, the statutory regulator. Our licence number appears on every report we issue.

Our work is carried out by IPAV-registered valuers, bound by continuing professional development and conduct obligations. Shane Cooke is a Member of the Institute.

Author of the European Valuation Standards, the Blue Book. The TRV and REV designations are awarded only to valuers who meet a defined standard and work to it, which means our valuations are recognised well beyond Dublin.
We cover the greater Dublin area in full, including Dublin city centre, north Dublin and Fingal, south Dublin, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and west Dublin, along with Kildare, Wicklow, Meath, Louth, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath and Wexford.
Coverage on a map is one thing; knowing an area is another.
Local detail tends to matter more than people expect, which side of a road commands a premium, how a particular estate has traded this year, what a south-facing garden is worth in that part of town. That kind of familiarity builds up over years of working the same market.
Whether it is for a lender, a solicitor, the HSE or your own peace of mind, we will come back to you with a fee before anything starts.
